Julie Hughes, Independent Occupational Therapist.
Therapy for children & adults in Somerset.

Fees and Costs:
My fees are competitively priced when compared with those of other Independent Occupational Therapists and are set out below:
Before the first appointment:
-
You may wish to chat about your needs or those of your child on the phone prior to arranging for any appointments. This allows you to decide if you feel that I could be of help to you. This is free of cost.
The initial assessment:
-
This will Involve observation, discussion and/or the undertaking of particular tasks (e.g. handwriting for children). The assessment will last up to two hours, sometimes a little longer and may need to be in two sessions dependent on the child/adult's tolerance.
-
Following the initial assessment (which usually lasts up to 2 hours) I will write a standard OT report which will contain a discussion of the main findings of the assessment, advice on how to proceed and an outline of a therapy programme. The cost of the initial assessment and basic report is from £200.
-
If additional assessment is required in a different setting (e.g a school visit in addition to a home based assessment) this will cost an additional £50.
-
NB: I do not routinely provide the standardized assessments which are likely to be necessary for SEN (Statement of Educational Needs) Tribunals.
Ongoing therapy sessions:
-
Are charged at £40 per hour per block of 6. This includes direct individual therapy time, discussion time to review the goals and therapy programme and administration and liaison (with school staff, other professionals) as required.
Other charges:

Meetings with family/school/other will also be charged at £50 per hour.
